Merchant's Media seeks to provide merchandise and daily updates on the issues that matter to you. The world is currently dealing with the fear and very real effects of the Covid 19 virus and governments and people are in some cases not thinking clearly and are making irrational decisions. We aim to provide some different perspective, encouragement, and in some cases a dissenting voice to political leadership in our world. From the Y2K computer scare, to concerns about the disastrous decision to invade Iraq, to the fears of the 2016 US election result, from the Dutch Tulip Mania in 1636, where prices for tulip bulbs soared to nose bleed levels in a speculative bubble, to the dot.com high technology mania of 1999, to…..
Societies have proven prone to rabid fears that drive events, and bouts of excess euphoria, leading to irrational exuberance. To be certain, some of our fears came true ( General Colin Powel's broken pottery analogy that "if you break it you own it" proved prescient regarding Iraq. Some of our exuberance in 1999 proved warranted, for much of the technology that has revolutionized business today was conceived in the go-go speculative craze back then. How do we adopt what is sound, true, and useful while tuning out the noise?
"What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; There is nothing new under the sun. Ecclesiastes 1:9 Holy Bible.
